Columbia Sportswear Deep Ghyll Shell Jacket (For Men)

I bought this for my husband, but it is a very trim fit. While both my son and husband are a medium, this is not going to fit most medium guys. It was just too snug. However, my son was thrilled with this gift. It was his favorite gift and wasn't even meant for him. He plans to ski in it in spring with warmer weather.(Too cold for now!) Also, he is an avid hiker and it is wind and water proof. Great product for a great price.

This is a jacket and not a parka. I was expecting the size to be a bit larger to layer other clothes inside of the jacket but even a wool sweater makes it a tight fit. Construction is top notch; all seams are sealed and all zippers are of the waterproof type. Pockets are a bit small; putting in a pair of gloves to one pocket and a pair of ear warmers in the other make the jacket bulk out, especially if a sweater is worn underneath (the cut of the jacket is tight). There is no lining in this jacket. It's a single layer waterproof material. Oh the armpit zippers are stiff like everybody else said but after some use either you get used to it or it softens up since I stop noticing the issue in a few hours.

I thought this would be more like a thick jacket, but it is more like a rain coat or thick wind breaker. If you are looking for a warm jacket I would look for something more insultaed.

I purchased this coat for my husband and was super excited about the color of the coat but was disappointed with the fit. While the coat fit around the chest the sleeves were a good 4 inches too long. Additionally the combination of the cut of the jacket and the stiffness of the pit zips results in them feeling shoved into your arm pits.
