I was looking for water aerobics shoes for men. Shoes you would wear in the chlorine pool. Thought the offerings for women are considerable, there are little offerings to men. For my needs the Columbia Sportswear Drainmaker II is good. It gives me the support I was looking for and does not weigh down in the water. The drawback is that the shoes do not dry very quick. They are still wet when I use them 24 hours later. They drain well for the bulk of the water and are not squishy, but they remain damp for a couple of days.

The Blue version of the white ones with the little blue rings. I hate sweaty feet, and I love these shoes! The mesh is open enough in both versions that you can feel both the AC and the slightest outside breeze on your toes! Both versions need an insole for all day walking, just slip it under the perforated sole that comes with the shoe, and your feet will stay dry. I never noticed any difference between these and the Omni Freeze version. I wore both versions in the same conditions: 100+ degree heat, car with AC, mall/stores with AC. Still havent taken them into water, because the lakes are low and the creeks are dry and other reviews say beach sand will get in them, and I plan on going to Corpus in Oct/Nov. The Outdoor shops here in Austin dont carry Columbia, and I love STP for allowing me to try them out. Columbia is my new favorite shoe for fit and comfort. I also have the trail running shoes.

I've been looking for ever for the perfect water/hiking shoe. I wanted it to be comfortable soft on the inside, drain well, have an agressive hiking sole, and to protect my feet. I finally found it with this shoe. I've taken my drainmaker 2's to Hawaii on many hikes including crossing streams and creeks. They performed perfectly. On my favorite hike here in Oregon (Opal Creek) there are many large boulder type rocks and tons of water to wade through and again they performed perfectly. I have two pair and I've loaned them to two friends and they both now want a pair. If you want a comfortable hiking shoe that can go right through water and back to the trail, this is it. What a great shoe - finally!

I have now used these shoes for two weeks now and they work great. I have used them mainly to walk in and out of creeks to retrieve my frisbee golf discs... I am very pleased with the comfort/support from a shoe and the drainage of a sandle! I will definitely be getting another pair or two when these wareout!
