Columbia Sportswear Earflap Hat and Mitten Set (For Infants)

The facial area of this hat is too exposed due to poor design. The hat wants to slide backwards on my child's head when on, further exposing the face. There is no way to adjust this design mishap even though the quality of materials and construction are there.

Nice product, but the sizing/description is way off. Both the hat and the mittens are much too large for an infant.

I have to be able to tighten the straps at the neck at LEAST 2 - 3" before I can wear this hat on my 19 month old. I am hoping to add more velcro in the right spots to make this happen! Also mittens are short and fat, fat is OK, but short is not, they slip off and can not put them over the coat sleeves.....

I bought this for my son. We live in a very cold climate in NW Alaska. I would not recommend this to keep baby's head warm in winter weather. It is light. It works great in the rain. Went for a walk and the water beaded up and rolled off the hat. The chin strap is a bit of a problem. If you line up the velcro the strap doesn't fit snugly under the chin. I am going to have to add velcro to it to make it fit better. I would recommend this product to others in specific situations. It would not make a great winter hat unless you live in a pretty mild climate AND if you don't mind adding some velcro to it. It isn't a bad hat, just not amazing. The mittens are pretty darn cute. They are more for little ones who aren't going to PLAY in the cold weather.
