Reviewed by Lyonet from Bridgeville, PA on Tuesday, June 4, 2013In the case of these shorts, the center seam was a mite short and I returned them.

Reviewed by TT from Kansas on Wednesday, May 15, 2013I hate buying new clothes when I'm trying to lose weight, but it's hard to exercise when clothes are too tight. I usually wear an 18-20 in slacks, ordered these in a 20 and a 22, and am keeping the 22. Why?
The 20's fit, but they felt too low on my waist and I revealed too much when bending over. (My hips are considerably larger than my waist, so maybe they make the rise issue worse?) Using the adjustable waistband, I cinched waist of 22 in several inches. They ride just a little higher (although I wouldn't mind if they were even higher), and I feel I have greater freedom of movement in them. The fabric is sturdy and not see through, but it is also very THIN, so the cinched-in waist doesn't make them look too bulky. And, even if I do lose weight, I think I can continue to use them, just by gathering the waist in more and more. The thin fabric seems like it will gather in/flow fairly nicely over a skinner bod, without looking too much like cinched in big lady shorts.
Reviewed by Lovemydog from Oklahoma on Thursday, May 9, 2013I like loose clothing. My waist is 42". Bought size 22W. It fits quite large, but using adjustable band took about 2" from each side. Fits very comfortably and allows great freedom of movement for working in yard. Next time would go a size smaller.
Overall, good material; light-weight for hot weather. Seems very durable and well made. what I would expect from Columbia products.
These are pricey, even on sale, but I anticipate will be wearing them for years without any rip-mending or button-sewing needed.
