Columbia Sportswear Emulsion Hoodie Sweatshirt (For Little Boys)

Bought a size 6/7 for my small (on the short side and he's lean) 6.5 year old son. He is fussy with what he wears and thought he would like the print on this (bought the green one) and fortunately he did. It was too long in the body and arms for him (though it didn't look ridiculous) and so I machine washed it on the cold cycle. The label says to GENTLE machine wash it (I didn't). It has definately shrunk length-wise, so it is now a good length for my son. I am surprised by how much it shrunk though (yes I didn't do a gentle wash but I still did a cold wash), and so watch out for this. I won't be happy if it shrinks even more on subsequent washes. The body of this top is not wide - it is much narrower than a Columbia Steens mountainwear polarfleece top that I also bought him from Sierra (same size). But my son has a lean body anyway so it is a good fit on him. The material is not as thick as I was expecting, but on really cold days he can just wear extra layers underneath. It is suitable to wear year-round, except for when it gets really hot of course. I would buy this again, but only if it doesn't shrink further (I have yet to wash it for the second time).

Great lightweight jacket at a good price.

Normal Columbia quality at a great price, good stuff here.
