    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I really like the cut of these snow pants, and they're reasonably warm. I'm not sure I'd classify them as waterproof, more like water resistant. I used them for the first time boarding last weekend, and I was sitting in the snow frequently. By the end of the afternoon I was soaked through. Probably not a problem for more experienced riders. Also I found that the snaps at the top came undone several times with normal use, and I found myself having to pause a few times before getting back on the lift because the pants were falling down!
