Columbia Sportswear Horn Mesa Hunting Jacket - Wool (For Men)

Nice jacket but the stiching was not great. I had to trim a lot of threads and even re-sew a area due to the poor stich work. Buttons had to be silenced due to rattles. I expect this in the mass produced, all imported, sub quality controled retail market of today but some of you may not. I rarely buy a product that does not have many flaws these days. Imported to me means...buy it then fix it the right way if possable. If not, send it back. It's called quality control Columbia and you other big names. Check in to it.

Good hunting jacket.

This is a very well made jacket that allows you to layer underneath with room to spare. There is a slight smell after you take it out of the package which I imagine is the waterproofing but it goes away after hanging up for a while. I'm a small framed guy and wish I had bought a medium instead of a large. Oftentimes jackets/shirts I buy aren't long enough in the sleeves but this coat doesn't have that problem. Large pockets allow for boxes of shells, grunt calls, etc. Very happy with this purchase.

Ordered this as I was looking for a camo jacket at a good price. I like that wool keeps you warm even when wet. The jacket is well built but I exchanged mine for a size smaller so I would say they run a full size large unless you want a lot of extra room for under layers (like 8-10 inches worth around your torso). The camo pattern is largely just green with some dark and light browns. Would work well in sage brush, evergreens and against other greenery. Probably not so good in late fall once leaves are down.

Great jacket. My husband agrees. He can't wait to go hunting.

In late season hunts when the temp is in the twenties, I layer as needed under the coat. It's pretty windproof as well.

Would recommend. It kept me warm but not to the point I was sweating with nothing but a shirt on underneath in the predawn hours. Still able to draw my bow with no problem.

Nice product, big fan of wool for the cold weather. Not good for bowhunting as lining inside jacket is noisy.
