Columbia Sportswear Kinzua Mountain Sweater (For Men)

I was looking for a Shetland Wool sweater everywhere--they are very hard to find this season. I stumbled upon this sweater by accident and bought two of them at the same time. I absolutely love them and plan to wear them all winter.

Got this in a large for my broad-shouldered but slim husband, and he was absolutely swimming in it. It's cut very wide through the body - sized more like an XL, but probably not long enough for anyone over 6.' The wool was quite itchy and the bulky seam finishing looked a bit cheap, but the unusual yellowish-brown color was quite nice -- sort of an ochre.

This year I decided to try wool sweaters again, the cotton ones just didn't cut it last year with the cold. I bought two from Columbia because I like the quality, the style, the fit and the cost. All of these features exceeded my expectations and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!

Be forewarned. I purchased this a few months ago and was about to give this a rave review, when after wearing it several times (because I liked it to much), I decided to wash it. I followed the instructions on the label, namely, hand washed it in cold water. OH MY GOODNESS -- if you've been around for a while and know what cheap, untreated wool does when wet, you'll immediately know what I'm about to say. The SMELL!!! Took me some time to get the stench out of my house. Had to bag up the wet sweater and throw it away, it was so bad. No joke. Lovely sweater, until you have to wash it. Columbia really missed it on this one. Cheap, untreated wool from China. Should have spent more for J.D. Glover or similar quality wool products. Save you pennies and look elsewhere.

Very nice sweater. It is a little too roomy for me but, just a bit.

Over sized, good for layering

I bought this for my husband to wear with khakis or jeans to work and it is perfect. it will be good to dress up or down, and looks to last a long time.

Excellent quality sweater and its washable. Washability is a good feature if you're going to use the sweater for outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, hunting, etc. Hand laundered well and doesn't shrink if you flat dry. Pay attention to Columbia's sizing as they tend to run big. Liked it so much I bought 2 more.
