Reviewed by Gneiss from New York on Thursday, May 30, 2013I originally purchased the master of faster mid in the nylon fabric from another seller. I liked this shoe a lot. It was very light, super supportive, waterproof, and durable. I hiked, ran, and did construction work in the shoes. Psyched about MoF leather low on sale at STP. I bought three pairs thinking they would fit. (Hard to find performance shoes in size 16) After about a month I noticed tendon pulling in my left arch. Paying attention to the shoe now I noticed that the design leaves support lacking at the pad just behind the pinky toe. You can see this in the shoe photo. I could feel the harder foam patched there digging into my foot some how and felt my foot was wanting to roll to the outside. Not good.
It should be stated that my left foot is probably about a half size smaller than my right foot. I have to buy shoes that fit my right foot so my left foot is along for the ride. But this was the first shoe where the ride caused pain. I do not recall if I had that same pulling in my original MoF mids. But I do remember later in their life that hard foam digging behind he pinky toe. Bummer too. The MoF mid nylon was about the best, most technical shoe I've seen from this company.. and who else makes shoes in size 16?
Reviewed by Richard from Kansas on Sunday, May 26, 2013Have only had this item a few days; however, I have worn them often. Size is right, color is right and they do feel good on your feet. Construction appears to be nicely done. All in all, I am happy with this purchase and would buy again. Very good shoe and very good transaction with STP.
Reviewed by hornplayer from Arizona on Monday, May 6, 2013These shoes fit narrower than most and therefore fit my foot better. My job keeps my in different warehouses doing IT work and these shoes work perfect for all the hazards I run into.
Reviewed by Burnt Umber from Jackson, WY on Friday, April 5, 2013This is another good trail shoe manufactured by Columbia. It fits well and is narrower than many trail shoes, which is good for my feet. My only complaint, which is not all that important, is that the laces are ridiculously long.
Answer They have an Omni-Grip® high-traction rubber outsole with aggressive multi-directional lugs, which is slip resistant. You would want to order a 7-1/2.
