I'm very picky with shoes because I try to strike a balance between comfort and style. I wish these boots were made in a wide and I can't tell if there's a comfort/shock absorbing mid sole in these or not. But, this is about as close as I was able to find in a comfortable and attractive chukka. And I've looked extensively.

This boot is right at home at a camping event or at the office. Works well with everything from jeans to slacks. Columbia has redesigned the traditional desert boot and made it more comfortable with contoured leather uppers and formed insole (credit a wide-format but neutral shoe last) that cradles your foot. Could use a little more arch support but this boot will not fatigue your foot on a long trail. Since I use this boot outdoors almost every weekend, I sealed the outer seams with a good boot wax. Now they're waterproof and when paired with wool boot socks, my feet are nicely warm on a crisp winter day. You won't be disappointed...

Opanka Construction is a method of lasting a shoe where the upper is stitched to the outsole. This construction aids in better flexibility. The Opanka construction is our unique construction that hand sews the upper, the sock lining, and outsole together in a single process.
