This is my new "wear around town" jacket. I've gotten several compliments on it and I've only worn it two times. The black color is not a true black, more of a dark silvery grey, but still very pretty.

I love this coat! It's very nice. Fits true to size. I wear a large and the large fits perfect. It's very warm. We've had some -20 degree temps here for the mornings and I haven't been cold at all. I was hesitant about the faux fur on the hood...I was going to take the hood off. But it dresses up the coat quite nicely and the fur fluffed out great after being taken out of the packing. All in all I really like this coat. Just what I would expect from a Columbia.

I wear size Medium in most of Columbia's apparel. I own the Columbia Mighty Lite jacket in Medium but I bought this jacket, Mercury Maven in Large. I'm glad I did because the armholes are snug. In fact, the armholes are just very slightly larger than my size medium Mighty Lite. If you have thicker arms or are well-endowned, it's best to size up. If you have slim arms or boyish frame, I think you can order your regular size.
Overall, I like the subtle plaid design, the hood is not ridiculously large, and it is warm enough for San Francisco. I do wish it has the Omni-heat lining like my other Columbia jackets. My husband thinks it makes me look puffy! However, this *is* a down jacket, so I don't mind the slight puffiness. Great price from STP of course!

bought this for my daughter, college age, New England winter, very snug, good-fitting small hood, warm and cozy! She's happy with it and it's very cute on her - nice coat all around, could have used more inside pockets, wouldn't do well as a ski coat but an everyday winter coat or go out to play in the snow - absolutely!
