This shoe works for me. The fit, once I got the lace tightness right, hugs my foot. I have to be careful to slide my foot rearward before tightening the laces but it is a good shoe. The toe box is a little big but that my be because I slide my foot back. I originally ordered a 9.5 size shoe but it was so tight everywhere, especially the toe box, I sent them back. The size 10 were better.

This sneaker is extremely stiff. I bought this sneaker to work in the outdoors and waterproof was a main plus. I thought I could gradually break in this sneaker but it not happening. They hurt my feet. The sneaker is long enough but it may not be wide enough.

I bought these for casual hiking and walking in damp weather and they are serving that purpose well enough. I haven't rated them higher because the sole is very very stiff and it is taking a long time to break these in.

In addition to an overly stiff sole, the sole material is very slippery on certain surfaces. On the trail, this isn't a problem, but in town, I've slipped on smooth concrete, linoleum and other smooth surfaces. I've never had that problem with another shoe.

On the plus side, the sizing is accurate, and the shoe is very waterproof. I even dipped them in the creek for almost a 30 seconds and it came out drip dry.

I have another pair of Columbia model BM37096 but they no longer make these. I have plantar fasciitis and the style and form of the sole and inner liner is really easy on my heal (one of the few shoes I can wear all day in comfort.....I own 3 different styles of the Columbia shoe with this style sole and inner support....they work for me, but each person's fit is different). I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe and this fits well. There are 2 complaints I have with this shoe: #1 the tongue has a heavy piece stitched along the top side that goes to the inside of the foot. This is very uncomfortable on the top of the foot and I have to keep moving the tongue. I am hoping that wear will soften this area. #2 they smell like a car tire....the rubber used to make the sole has a very high odor like tire rubber which makes me worry about how long this will last.....is it some cheap rubber that will break-down in the long term? I am hoping the smell will go away with time. If not for those 2 things they would be perfect. PS: I have not tried in water as I do most of my hiking on the street, but I guess they are water proof?
