It is not designed for warmth on a sub freezing day, but will be perfect for cool mornings and windy afternoons..The blue is more of a dark periwinkle.....takes some getting used to and definitely eye catching.

The color is a beautiful bluish purple, and I love the styling; it comes in at the waist, and looks very flattering over my middle-aged middle. I bought it to wear indoors as a layer, not for outdoors, and it is perfect. I also like the length; it goes down to my hips, which is very flattering. All my other vests look like boxes next to this one. I wish you still had it in white in my size...
