Columbia Sportswear Powderkeg Convertible Jacket - 3-in-1 (For Women)

I was very nervous about buying this jacket, despite the great price, because of other reviewers that said it was bulky, ran small and tended to stick to whatever was warn underneath it. I've had this jacket for a few days now and don't think it's bulky at all. I've seen bulkier 3-in-1 jackets. The fleece is very warm and a lovely baby blue color. The outer layer feels durable, has lots of pockets, a removable hood and is a royal blue color. I have olive skin and find this jacket very flattering. It is also quite easy to carry around. The fleece hasn't stuck to anything I've worn under it yet, and both layers don't feel bulky when I wear them. Neither do they constrict my movements - on the contrary, I found both to be wonderfully thin in comparison to heavy-duty fleece jackets or other 3-in-1s (like the Marmot Cosset jacket I almost bought). When you buy this jacket you have to know what you are looking for: do you need a super-warm heavy-duty outer layer for trekking in almost-freezing temperatures? Don't get this jacket. Do you need a super-sporty jacket? Don't get this. Do you just need a good 2-piece set to keep you warm and dry on a hike, enabling you to shed layers as you go? Get this jacket. A note concerning size: I am 5'2, 110 lbs, usually wear shirts that are a European size 36-38 and the medium was a perfect fit for me.

Wonderfully warm and stylish coat for skiing - extremely affordable price. I wear Columbia clothing and coats all the time and always wear a M, but needed to exchange to get a L in this jacket. Very happy with it, though!

This jacket is really great, really versatile. Super warm & good looking. I don't ski, but that seems to be it's most appropriate use. Inner-liner is lighter than shown, more of a powder-light color. Overall, I'm really pleased with the purchase.

Light weight but warm, not bulky. Comfortable fitting coat. Fleece liner sticks to shirt sleeves slightly. Overall, however a wonderful coat. Get lots of compliments on it.

Gotta love Columbia products and a great price!

The jacket was nice-looking, and was one of the few green jackets I could find. (I specifically wanted green.) But the extra flap at the neck, which i suppose is to hide the zipper,? made it very bulky around the neck. Mainly, the sleeves were about 6" too long, and I am an average woman, 5'5" tall. I was mainly looking for a ski jacket, so the 3-in-1 aspect was not important to me. In fact, I'm not sure it would be quite warm enough for skiing. It only had 2 outer pockets, and this might bother some, but I never use any pockets other than the usual two anyway, so that aspect didn't bother me. In fact, it made it very "clean" looking. It did have extra pockets on the inside, as I recall. I returned it mainly due to the excessively long sleeves.

It is very difficult to slip on and off. I had to return it.

My first surprise was that the fleece liner of this coat is white. I'm not sure why I didn't notice that in the picture, but it was a surprise to me. The second surprise, and my only complaint about the coat, is that the sleeves of the liner are not lined so the fleece always sticks to whatever you are wearing and makes it difficult to take off. It seems like this has become more common in coats, and is not something I'm happy about. Other than that, the coat is very stylish. I love the color and like the fit. I would definitely recommend the coat to anyone needing a heavy, winter jacket.

The great thing about this Jacket is its versatility. Columbia makes great outerwear and it is designed well to be 3 coats in one. Its a great coat no matter how you wear it!

I use this jacket every day now that it is winter, and I have found that it blocks the wind very well and even at times keeps me too warm! It's perfect for what I want it for and I love the versatility of the layers. The colors are gorgeous- note there are two colors in the blue- a darker outer shell and a lighter inner shell. I'd say the inner shell is "Carolina blue", if you know what I mean. My only complaint was that it was a little snug. However, that could possibly be the holidays adding on a few pounds ;) Keep in mind, though, if you're layering, that it will be on the smaller end of the size range.
