    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I own many pair of Columbia pants & appreciate their quality & durability for outdoor living. These pants are a bit shorter/tighter in the rise so are a snugger fit than one would normally expect. If you don't have a totally flat stomach, you may want to pass. Otherwise, I like the muted plaid color for some variety & the quality is the usual Columbia.

    I bought 2 pairs of these slacks, but had to return them both. I generally wear a size 8, but ordered size 10 to be sure they'd fit. I could barely get into them, and couldn't zip them up! I like the Columbia name, but was very disappointed with these slacks. Plus, they were very wide - almost like bell bottoms. If you have a very narrow waist, and big thighs, then these are the pants for you. Otherwise, don't buy them.
