I researched ad nauseum before settling on this Columbia raincoat. I looked at the Patagonia Torrentshell and the Northface Resolve, but the reviews kept bringing me back to the Columbia. I am 60 years old, 5'4" tall, 122 pounds, normally size 4 or 6 and I ordered the medium, based on reviews on o... Read More

I wanted a rain jacket that would cover tunics but not long as a full length trench coat and this is perfect. Seems well made. Bought a XS which is my normal size. Still have room to fit over a bulky sweater.

I haven't gotten the chance to wear this yet because it isn't the right season, but it was a great price that I couldn't pass up. I love the longer length of the jacket and also the hood. It seems very durable and should be a long lasting jacket. I'm excited to wear it next year at college!

I am 105lbs and 5'5" and chose the XS in the blue-grey color. The jacket fit very well, although it may have still been a tad blousy right at the bottom, otherwise it was a pretty flattering fit. The snaps across the zipper are very nice and the hood pulls fit the hood snug around my head. For the great price, this was a really nice purchase, I'm quite happy with it.

I didn't think I was going to love this jacket as much as I do. I'm 5'2" 123lbs and this jacket fits beautifully. The cut of the jacket cinches in the middle and makes it look so feminine. I'm usually freezing even in my wool coat but somehow the omnitech is thin and really good at retaining my body heat. STP totally prices this jacket at a steal!

  • Question “What is the temperature rating?”

    • Answer I bought this jacket for Alaska and used it a lot. I was very comfortable, BUT it never got below 60 degrees while we were there. I don't think this would have worked for very cold weather, but I will definitely use it for temps down to mid-40s. Hope this helps.

    • Answer I have not had a chance to wear it in really cold weather...just rain and about 50 degrees. However, I love this rain jacket because it's longer than traditional rain jackets and felt comfortable in rainy weather. Maybe a little fleece under it?

    • Answer This is a waterproof shell, so it also functions as a windbreaker. It would provide quite a bit of warmth if you wear a sweater underneath, but otherwise not.

    • Answer Although I do not know the temperature rating, (I did check the specs and they fail to mention it as you, no doubt, noticed.) I can attest to the fact that this lightweight rain jacket is surprisingly warm. We live in Stavanger, Norway where the temps are obviously cool, even in the spring and part of the summer. I have been on many long walks when the temps are in the 45 to 55 (F) range, and I have never been cold. These are power walks, and Stavanger is hilly, so I'm getting a pretty good workout, so obviously my heart rate is elevated; a more casual walk in the 40's could, I guess get chilly. Seriously, sometimes, if the temps are in the high 40's to mid 50's, I wear a short sleeve t-shirt under this jacket. If it's above 50, I usually end up tying the jacket around my waist if it's not raining. I really love this jacket - the hood is great (It rains approx. 300 days/year where I live.) and the length is perfect.

    • Answer I don't know the technical rating, but it is not insulated. I wouldn't wear it if it were below 50 deg. F (without layering) or over 75 deg. F (if there is high humidity).

    • Answer I have only worn it in mild weather, so I'm not a good judge. It's not lined or insulated, so I would think it was designed for mild temps.
