    Have been useing these pants to play golf because the weather has changed from rain to wind to sun. These pants are lightweight, water and wind resistant and very comfortable. Not the classiest pants at the golf course, but really fill the bill. I am sure they would be great for travel and hiking. The transition zipper is not as bulky as in an old pair of convertible Columbia pants that I own

    I travel, hike, bike, kayak, backpack and anything that take me into God's great outdoors ... and these pants are the best I've found and I've been buying Columbia convertible pants from Sierra Trading Post for years. At my age, comfort, fit, quality material and workmanship are essential because I'm out in the boondock for 2 or 3 months at a time and these are the pants that work for me best.
