This is the perfect shirt for outdoor activities when you want to keep out of the sun or away from mosquitoes! I bought this shirt for our May-Aug Alaska trip and it is exactly what I needed for a reasonable price. As with all Columbia clothing, it does run on the small side. I am a comfortable size 6 but the medium fits me the best. Seriously, great skirt for mountain activities and plenty nice for in town days too :)

I just got this in the mail and am writing a review solely based on the sizing. I'm a size small in most brands- I was contemplating sizing up to a medium as STP suggests, but decided to stick with the small. A medium would have been way too big- I'm almost wondering if I should have gotten an extra-small! I think I will prefer the freedom of the movement in the small vs. an extra-small, but I do think the extra-small would have fit
For reference: I'm 5'3, 117 lb with a mostly flat stomach. I wanted a button down shirt so I wouldn't have to worry about whether I had a little belly while I was hiking, which is something that is noticeable with my (tight american apparel) t-shirts. I guess my advice is to know your own body- if a normal size small button down shirt would look good/not too tight on you, get the size small. If your tummy area is a little bigger and you're actually a size small/medium, maybe do size up.
A few other notes on the size/cut- its a really flattering cut. I know I shouldn't care if my hiking shirts are boxy, but I do. And this one is cute and flattering. Its not super long- it seems like the perfect length for me, but I have a short torso. I put my daypack over the top of it and it seemed like it would be a great fit- that it wouldn't ride up/expose my belly. For taller people it may end up being a bit too short.

I bought it for my mom, and she loves it. She usually wears L-XL, and this XL fits well. The pattern suits her too. Worth the price.

I sent it back, too small across the chest. I usually wear a large with all other Columbia shirts, this one not so. When I sent it back I was charged a total of $15 for shipping both ways. Won't ever buy from Sierra Trading Post again, a rip off!!!

I ordered this long-sleeved shirt and when it came it was short-sleeved. The material is great, and the colors very vibrant, but it runs very small. I ordered a size up but it was still quite tight across the bust area. I returned it.

I usually wear a S in a shirt, sometimes a M and ordered this in M based on reviews. It is too confining and feels very tight through shoulders and arms. Can barely reach my arms up without discomfort. I am 5'5", 130 lbs and small busted, so not sure what is going on with this top. Nice fabric and cute plaid pattern but will be returning it.

I ordered a size up and it is still way too small, plus I ordered a long-sleeved shirt and a short-sleeved arrived. Will be sending it back. Otherwise, it's a good quality shirt.

I've purchased many Columbia hiking and fishing shirts. I usually wear a large and that's what I bought in this one. It was a little snug in the shoulders and was too tight in the mid section. I bought an XL and it fits much better. Other shirts have not been so fitted.

I love this shirt so much, I ordered it in every color. It has a very flattering fit and is light yet durable. My only disappointment, and the reason for only 4 stars, is that the shirt runs small, especially across the chest. I have to pin the shirt to keep it from gapping at the bust. Otherwise, highly recommended.
