I highly recommend these. I used them during an adventure snowshoe excursion in a blizzard and they kept my legs warm and dry (note I had pants and a baselayer on underneath). I really like the built-in gaiters, they stop snow from going up the legs, but I found the inseam was just a bit too short (but I'm 6'3", so everything is just a bit too short) so a small amount of snow got around my ankles on occasion. If there was a better way to tighten the gaiter, then this would not have happened. One slight downside is that they do not breathe very well and if you are too warm and your legs start to sweat, the insides of the garment will be damp when you take it off. Overall, I think this is a great product for snow sports and will definitely keep you dry and warm. The downsides I encountered were only slight, and would not sway me from recommending this product.

Pant quality can't be beat! It's the Columbia quality! They were. Bit snug on my husband but he thinks he large may be too big!

The sizes of these are just off. The sizing guide recommended L (36-38) for my waist. The larges are a little too snug in the thighs. The waist fits OK, but a little snug. I ordered a pair of XLs (40-42) and they are too large, even with the velcro waist adjustment they are a little loose. With the velcro sides all the way tight on the XLs, the fabric bunches in the back which is pretty uncomforable. I bought these at a really good price (40% off coupon), but I am pretty sure I am returing both pairs because the fit is just not right. I really want to keep them becuase they are nice pants. If you are dead center on the fitting guide listed on the STP site, these may work well for you. If you are on the bottom end and have to use the velcro waist adjustment, expect the fabric to bunch at your back. If you are on the top end , of the fitting guide, expect them to be snug.
