Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by ShoesRMe from New York State on Wednesday, October 29, 2014I really liked the look and construction of these shoes. I don't know why I expected a roomier fit. Maybe because Colombian clothing usually fits me well. But these shoes were not roomy enough in the toe box for my feet. I don't technically wear a wide shoe because the rest of my foot is not wide. But I do need more room in the toe box, especially when wearing socks. I had to return them.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Berkshire Hiker from MA on Friday, September 19, 2014This is exactly what I wanted: fits well, is true to size and is very lightweight. Can't wait to try them out this weekend. Bought my husband the men's model last year and he loves them. Color is eh but at such a great price it was okay to sacrifice the fashion aspect. I am going to spray waterproofer on these. Would highly recommend these hiking shoes.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Camp Mom from Virginia on Wednesday, August 27, 2014We were in a pinch. Our vacation was in just a few days and my son had again outgrown his boots. None of the local stores had anything his size and there were few choices from other sources. At first I was concerned about a lack of ankle support, but these shoes ended up being perfect. They fit his narrow feet very well and handled steep hills, rocks, and boulders quite well. He was also able to run with no hot spots in these shoes. (He did not log significant mileage, but he did go about a mile or so.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by HavingFun from Illinois on Thursday, August 21, 2014Well padded sole for hiking/walking. Fits true to size & width.
Reviewed by CAT-AHOLIC from California on Friday, August 15, 2014I ordered my usual size 7.5 and found my big toes hit the shoes so I changed to size 8 to give my toes a little more room.
They are super comfortable, light weight and breathable. Got a complement from a stranger about how good they look (and yes, I recommended her to check out STP!). The only thing is that we live near the beach and have to walk through the beach from the parking lot to our place. The sand easily gets inside the shoes through the mesh so I usually end up with a bunch of sand in the shoes. But I love them enough to keep wearing them :)
Answer I am sorry Elizabeth, but I cannot answer your question because I returned the shoes. They did not have enough room in the toe box for my feet. I have bunions and need more room. I liked the shoes and was sorry they did not fit me.
Answer From the bottom of your foot it is about 2 cm or 7/8 of an inch. (Hard to tell exactly.) From the outside it looks like it is 3 cm or 1 1/4 inch. At the ball of your foot it is 2 cm or 7/8 of an inch also, but doesn't have the extra extending up to make it look like more. Hope that helps.
Answer Measured on the outside of the sole at the heal, the height is 1 1/8". Measuring the same outside sole at the ball of the foot is 3/4". I cannot determine if this is the true height, since the inside of the footbed is indented or made into the sole. I can only state that these shoes are very comfortable with cushion under the footbed. The shoes also breathe well with exercise.
Answer About 1 1/4", maybe a little bit thicker than a sneaker sole.
