Columbia Sportswear The Tokyo Soft Shell Jacket - Reversible, Titanium (For Women)

I bought this jacket in the brown color for a trip I'll be taking soon and needed something lightweight and rain resistant--this is perfect! The jacket is a trim fit and flattering. I wore it the other day and received many compliments.

I primarily bought this jacket for doing biological field work during winter months. I love the colors of both sides and they are perfect to camouflage the dirt I accumulate when I'm in the field. I also love the thumb holes (though the sleeves feel slightly short so there is some pressure on my thumbs when I wear them). However, it is not as warm as I expected. I will likely have to wear another layer underneath during winter, and I am only talking about Southern California winter... Although I like the idea that it is reversible, the print side is not very comfortable on your skin, so it doesn't really get much reverse action. All in all,I think this is a good shell, but it certainly is not warm enough to suffice in chilly temps.

the neck tab/drawstrings were broken when i bought it and the sleeves are too short for my thumbs to fit comfortably on the thumbholes but i have long monkey-arms and jackets are always too short. my main complaint though is the print on the brown color. it's a really bold print, but subtle colors. so it just kind of is weird, i returned it for store credit. the weight is perfect though, and the softshell fabric is super legit. it's very warm, the hood is great, and it's not bulky at all. maybe this will work better for you!
