I really wish I could find a second pair of these in the S, since I wear them several days a week, for day hiking and, most recently, for several days of canoeing and camping overnight. I got the black and grill combination, with black in the back. I would take any color though to make sure that the pants last longer by being rotated. The material is lightweight, so it dries quickly when wet by the river or my own sweat, but that does likely mean they won't last as long as heavier weight fabric. That said, I've been wearing my one pair very often for the past 6 months and they're still in great shape, no tears, picks, seam failure or piling. I like the slim leg, since they fit like straight leg jeans, but not too skinny like leggings. They are very stretchy and don't bind when I move about in any direction. They also resist staining and spot clean easily in the field. They're also easily machine washed, but I do line dry them even though the care tag says machine dry low. I hate shrinking knit pants, so I use our clothes line. I'm 5'3" tall, 128 lbs, and generally wear a S or size 4 in pants. The size S is a great fit for me. I hightly recommend them to anyone who can use the sizes left and is looking for this sort of lightweight, slim pant. In the small, the pair I got had slim hips as well as slim legs, including the thighs, no jodphur effect like someone else reported. Different fits for different folks I guess. This one was just right for me!
