Columbia Sportswear Trailhead Dog Vest - Fleece

I use the coat (I have a Large and it fits fine) for my German Shorthaired Pointer on walks, runs, hiking, playing in the yard, etc whenever it's cold and windy. It seems to keep him warm, and he likes wearing it. I like how it covers underneath but still is out of the way when he has to pee. The reflective trim is great early in the mornings when it's still dark. It looks great on him, too. The zipper ripped when I was trying to unzip it and he caught glimpse of an animal...he took off, the zipper didn't and it ripped. After sewing it back, I now leave the buttons snapped until it's unzipped to prevent that from happening again. Overall, this a great item for the price.

The biggest con is that the coat is not lined, so many seams exposed and rub and irritate the dog.

This is a great jacket. It covers most of the dog's belly, which protects him from the cold better than the open-belly coats. My dog is a 21-pound miniature schnauzer and the Medium fits her quite well. It is a slight bit snug under the arm pits, but not too snug, and although she is not obese, she needs to lose a pound or two. The reflective bands on the top of the jacket are nice to have since she is black and at night is hard to see. The jacket is nicely sewn, has a very good zipper that doesn't "bunch" up. The fleece is a medium density, not a thick one. It will work very nicely for cold autumn days, and warmer winter days. I am very pleased with the quality, and also the price for such a nice jacket.

Just remarkable styling, quality I'd be glad to put on me, and a clean, dry dog when we get home. Our dog has been happy to wear from the first day, he puts his paws right in and stands for closure - no movement restrictons as he runs. He is a lean 60 lb standard poodle mix and is wearing a large. With more chest or fur, he could even wear an XL. Reflective piping is nice safety addition. Outstanding!

These are great and the dogs loved them. The only thing is for our dogs (heelers) had to go up a size to fit them.

Love the quality, but too tight and constricting. Definitely for small dog, not over 25 lbs. Wish it were larger, have to return.

This dog coat is easy to put on. We haven't used it yet, but it looks warm -- not arctic warm, but it should extend our time outside in zero and slightly sub-zero (Farenheit)conditions. It looks easily washable. The first one I got (a medium) was surprisingly small. I had to return it for a large, which is perfect for my dog, who is just a bit over the size of an average beagle.

I have recently adopted a Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix. If the temperature dips below 50, my dog starts shivering. I bought two of these jackets and they have helped my dog stay warm. The coats are very easy to put on and wash in the washing machine very nicely. My dog Chip LOVES his new coats!

I ordered this coat for my border collie. She was scheduled to have a tumor removed from her chest and I try to avoid e-collars. The surgery was very lengthy and she had about an eight inch opening which is stapled on the outside. The coat was to hopefully cover that area and help keep it clean. It also keeps her from licking and chewing at the incision area. She wore the coat home from the hospital and everyone commented on what a cute coat it is. It is VERY well made and designed and she loves it. I have to make sure the house is cool enough to keep her from getting hot. I also ordered two of the waterproof jackets in the same style. My girl weighs 40 lbs and the LARGE is almost snug. She has border collie mane so the neck it staying unsnapped for now while it is not cold. I will probably order some more.

This vest does run a bit small. The large size is a little big on our 10 mo. lab mix (65 lbs) but will allow for further growth. Our dog is jet black so this works great for after dark walks.
