They will stretch to fit larger heads. They do not come down very far over the ears. The hat material is not all that thick, so if you are looking for a warmer or warmest hat, this isn’t it. This beanie feels like it will be good for active wearers in the Winter.

They fit my 7 1/2 size head due to the stretchy fabric, and the synthetic material does not itch like wool would. They are stylish and reversible. (All you need is a pair of scissors to remove the tags inside and voila, you’ve got two beanies!) My Winter Survival Camp students and instructors love these hats! They are warm enough for the Pacific Northwest winters if you are moving and dressed well while sitting. If it’s windy, pull up the hood on your jacket, and you’ve got warmth. I would buy again. (I did!)

I have a medium large head and this hat fits me without being tight. I bought 26 of these because the price was right, the fabric was great for anyone in my group who might be allergic to wool, and I liked the "winter camo" color. (I'm leading a Winter Survival Camp for boys and men and this is going to be our official camp hat.)
