I use this as a stand alone cover on walks every morning as well as under my rain gear or down parka. I was surprised at the warmth and wind protection it provides considering how light the material is. It was advertised by the manufacturer as being part of their three-point system but it is not. Probably due to it being a half zip instead of a full zip top.

This is another great example of Columbia's titanium line. This jacket is a bit nicer than the "standard" Colombia gear, which I also love. The sizing is just like all their other stuff. I'm 5'8" 155 pounds and a small fits me perfect. The jacket is lightweight but not as lightweight as I was looking for, I wanted a very thin fleece jacket and this one is sort of lightweight. If you want a thick jacket this is not for you, if you want a really thin jacket this is not for you either. However it's very warm and has a double thick collar that can be zipped all the way up with out chocking or restricting your movement.

Exactly what I expected;light yet warm

The moment I opened the plastic bag to try the jacket, alot of micro hairs and fibres start flying around which causes me to sneeze furiously. Usually, I bought many columbia products, I do not have such problem. My nose are sensitive to micro fibre /hair, but columbia products gave me no such problem until I bought this jacket. I sent for cold gentle wash with no bleaching agent and mild detergent , to wash away the smell and soften the fabric alittle (This is my usual practice, i follow the washing instruction). It is quick dry, but to my horror, when it was dried, I rub my hands over the fabric, clumps and lumps of fibre (Micro fibre)start to develop and I have to rub away the clumps from the jacket. The more I do , I more the clumps develop. I was shocked. it started flying all over the place and I have to vaccuum it away. I have not worn the jacket and I intend not too as I noticed that the clumps of fibre keep developing on the surface whenever the jacket comes in contact with any physical surface like body or hand. I owe alot of Columbia products, bought alot from Sierra, this is the first most disappointing experience.[...]

Will use for alpine ski patrolling under a shell. Collar setup just right for me. Great, cozy feel. Sleeves are longer than I would like. Pit zips would be a bonus but all in all a good value for the price.

Great product. Length is a bit on the short side with sleeves right on. Afraid of going to XL to get more length and risk sleeves being too long.
