Columbia Sportswear Whitefield Winter Boots - Waterproof (For Men)

I am glad I got size larger as these seem to run small, but are very nice indeed!

This boot fits well and is great when snow blowing the driveway. My only issue with the boot is that it is too stiff around ankle. It rubs the back of my calf. I wish it was a little more flexible in the ankle area. Other than that it it very comfortable to walk in.

There is a great deal that is positive about this boot. That said there is one aspect of the design that causes me so much pain I can't walk in it for over a few blocks. At the top of the back of the boot instead of having a section that is cut out, there is a raised ridge. This area digs into my lower calf to the point where that areas hurts for hours after I have taken off the boot. Columbia's early versions of this boot had the cut out and they were really comfortable. I wish they would change back to their earlier design because this cut out is what most other companies have.

Boots run a little wide, but with thick socks it should not be an issue. They are quite warm and good if you are standing still a lot in sloppy wet or snowy weather.

purchased these boots because the mild winter has left the hiking trails a muddy mess. they are water proof so i can just hose them off when i'm done. there reasonably comfortable and warm, a little stiff but that will change with time. All in all a decent boot for my application.
