I'm 6'4" and 275, not a small guy, But this XXL (my normal size) jacket fits like a pickle barrel. 2) This is soft shell? It's not at all what I was expecting. I've got a softshell jacket already, and this is nothing like it. It's just a thin, sueded membrane over insulation, not the thicker soft shell that I was expecting. I was very disappointed. This experience reminds me of why I generally try something on before I buy it. Now I'm out $17 shipping (going & coming) to have nothing in return. It was cheap though!

Question “Does this Columbia Wildcard III have any insulation? It refers to some, but is that simply the material on the underside of the shell or does it actually have fill or another layer? I'm trying to get a sense of how warm it would be. thanks”

Answer The jacket actually has fill in it. My husband and I live on the side of a mountain in Upstate New York. He wore it snow plowing the day he received it. He states it is one of the warmest medium weight jackets he has ever owned. He loves that it is completely waterproof. Hope that helps you. He truly loves it, and outdoor sports and clothing are his life.
