It is well sewn, good quality curtain. Nice add to the room and blocks light about 80%.and I believe it blocks sound 50% or so. But it is not Insulated kind or one of those with backing as some other review said. It is just one layer of fabric that is not that thick.

These are beautiful drapes as well as practical. We needed to cover some extra high windows to keep from losing heat and they have definitely improved the comfort-level of that room in the very cold winter weather. They maintain the pleated drape look although they fit on a plain rod.
