5.0 out of 5 stars. Sierra vs Ocean Pacific shorts

These corduroy shorts are excellent for the money! They are the closest thing i've seen yet to an original pair of Ocean Pacific shorts. They run just a tiny bit larger than OP'S and therefore are just a little bit better fix for comfort. I hesitate to recommend them because they will sell out fast if OP fans find out about them. I have tried Essential apparells, Undergear, and Sport-it shorts and they don't even come close to these. The corduroy on these shorts is not as thick as the original OP'S but is softer. These shorts are about a 12 wale whereas the OP'S were an 8 wale. What's a wale? It's the number ribs per inch, a little like threads per inch. The wallet pocket is on the left side whereas OP'S were on the right side. OP no longer makes this style shorts so this is the only option. These shorts have a metal zipper whereas OP'S had a nylon one. The patch pockets aren't full length but are deep enough. I hope they get some more because size 34 is already sold out in two colors so far. I didn't write this review for the $1,000.00 prise money. If i win just send me all the size 34 shorts you can spare!

I am guilty of only looking at the front photo and didn't realize that these shorts didn't have belt loops. While the cut and length were to my liking, I didn't feel that the elastic rear waistband was adequate to keep these shorts on my waist. I did look for what made these shorts 2nds and couldn't find anything on the two pairs I examined closely.

These shorts have no belt loops. There is elastic in the waist band, but I would have preferred to have belt loops, too.

Comfortable, old school shorts, just waiting for summer days at the shore.
