It is meant, I think, to be worn over a blouse or dress at hip level. It was large and roomy. The Large size was too big for me - I usually wear a 10-12.

Too Big!Reviewed by cj from Salt Lake City on Saturday, March 8, 2014I'm a woman of somewhat regal proportions (cough) but this belt was too big even on the tightest cinching point. After trying it on, I was unable to get the belt undone as the holes in the leather were too tight. I was momentarily trapped but fortunately had room to slide it down over my hips and slither out of it. Love the style, but back it goes.
