“I wish I had this setup 40 years ago when I was fishing the mountain streams of WV for trout and smallmouth as a kid--it would have been perfect. For now, I'm using it to chase bluegills and crappie in MS. I've got it matched with a very small Tica Fishmaster and it balances nicely. I've only tried it with a quality WF4 and it casts the line long, smooth, and strong. Of all the rods I have (way too many--thanks to STP), this one puts the biggest grin on my face. As far as the finish on the pole--I love it. As a matter of fact, I liked the rod and finish so much that I ordered the 4 pc 8wt Endurance as my new traveling Redfish/Bonefish rod.
