Very stiff material. Feel like "work pants". Sized small.

They arrived stained, although the packing was intact. I will use them as pants to paint the house. I am disappointed.

I own 3 pairs of these, olive that I bought last year and I just purchased khaki and navy. The khakis are great, they're Eddie Bauer and are a nice shade of khaki. The navy are too close to black for my taste and I'll probably donate them, I paid $10 after discounts and it's not worth returning them.

Bought (2) pair of these pants for my man pal. They are perfect!! I bought one in a 34"x 32" and one in a 33"x32".. lucky for us.. they were each made by a different manufacturer, and they both fit perfectly!!!
I should buy him more, at that price!!

  • Question “What is the material of black one?”
Asked on 6/1/2015 1:20:26 PM by Klicko from PE
    • Answer Mine are a very tightly woven, high thread count twill and although there is no fabric tag on the garment I would assume 100% cotton. No visible defects were found and they bear the trademark of a high-end retailer. Most satisfactory for the price.

    • Answer All of the different colors that I have ordered have been cotton, but I must admit that I have not ordered the black this year.

    • Answer I did not order the black ones, but I think they ALL are 100% cotton twill....just different manufacturers.

I actually wanted Navy Blue and got black. But needed those as well.

    • Answer I don't know about the ones that are black; we ordered khaki, and they were 100 percent cotton and very nice. I am assuming that all of the colors are the same material, but I don't know that for sure.

    • Answer Most of these trousers are 100% cotton but each order is different and from different companies. The styles also vary considerably. Because of the low price, it is like a lottery. The last pair I got had a name brand in the belt seam. The other pairs did not have a tag.

    • Answer They are extremely deep. Come to think of it; they are the deepest pants pockets of all that I own. No problem doing any of these things. I promise this is not a factor in your fathers decision to purchase these pants.

    • Answer I am not sure if all of these pants are the same or if they might be from different manufactures in the different sizes and color (I know mine are different between pleated and plain front). I would say that the pockets on mine are of "average" depth, though, about the same as an average pair of jeans or chinos but I also carry a "man purse" to carry anything that I don't want spilling out of my pockets.

    • Answer Thank you for the prompt and courteous responses. They are helpful and very much appreciated; with the exception of one.

On a side note to Bette: You would benefit from the old adage, "If you can't say something nice...." Please spew your discourteous, rude and obtuse comments to those who love you, perhaps they do not mind, or are numb to, your crass language, disrespect and utter lack of consideration. My Father is an 81-year old Retired United States Air Force Major who bravely and tirelessly served his country for 21 years, has raised seven children (not all of whom are his natural children) and is one of the most honorable, patriotic, generous and humble human beings I have ever had the pleasure to know. It is my privilege to try to meet his needs and do the 'leg work' for him. Additionally, simple observation would suffice to provide insight into the depth of a pocket.
Madam, if anyone needs to be "screened," it is you.

    • Answer I consider them sufficient, I carry a flip phone, keys, pocket knife, small pencil sharpener, finger nail clippers, ear plugs, LED flashlight and a book of matches and that is just in the right pocket. Occasionally when sitting some coins may fall out (left pocket) but not often. I hope this helps.

    • Answer Hello Trapezius, Actually these pants run a little tight in the waist and a little long in the length. So, to answer your question; you need to order a 36 In the waist and a 30 in the length. This is the safest measurements for you to order. I order these pants a lot and you will like the style and fit. Happy shopping.
Answered on 8/29/2014 3:36:44 AM by Anthop from Tennessee
    • Answer Thanks The Tailor from Tennesse, the info about ordering a size bigger in the waist and length is very useful and appreciated. But, my question is not about waist or length, rather, about how it fits the legs. That's why I would really appreciate it if someone could measure the width of a pant leg at the bottom, and ideally, at the knee/upper thigh as well.
Answered on 8/29/2014 5:08:07 AM by trapezius from Louisiana
    • Answer I don't have access to my pants right now but question if it would matter. These pants are labeled as seconds and part of that would appear to be irregular fit. I bought a pair of plan front and one pleated, both have the same "fake" label over the real makers brand and they are different brands so I would not expect to get the same brand pant or fit among different sizes and colors of the plain front (my guess) but for the $10 I paid and cheap shipping rate offered I would say it is worth the risk. My particular pair of pleated pants are perfect and good enough to wear to work while the plain front are barely acceptable and so better for working on my car or painting.
Answered on 8/29/2014 5:16:09 AM by CheffJeff from Central CT
    • Answer They are 34" waist, hemmed to about a 31" length, and are 19" around the bottom of the leg.

    • Answer I am not quite sure which pants you're referring to, but the last ones I bought were Merrell brand, and they measure 9 1/2 inches at the bottom of the leg.

    • Answer This is for Trapezius, Majie, and Lee: After reading the answers to your collective questions, I thought my head would explode. To everyone else (although my answer is a couple of years late) this is meant to help in the future: what each of these potential buyers needed to know was the "fit" of the pants. This is a technical term and Im surprised that STC did not include this very important info in the description. Fit refers to HOW the pants are constructed. By the way, this info is in the "pants sizing guide". Are they a "relaxed fit" meaning there is extra fabric in the seat, hip and thigh? Are they a "straight fit" meaning no extra fabric from the seat of the pants to the ankle? The pant leg would measure the same distance across all the way down. This is also sometimes referred to as "classic fit". Now in style is "skinny fit" which means the pants are literally almost skin tight and the "rise" is very very short. Rise (another technical term) is the distance from the crotch to the top of the pants, measured in the front.. Have you seen the teens and 20 somethings wearing pants that are half off their backside and so tight on the leg you wonder how they got them on? That is skinny fit. The reason Trapezius was asking for measurements was he/she was trying to figure out the same thing I wish I knew: are these relaxed fit or straight fit? Unless you are a guy (built straight) or a gal who is very thin or has no hips, you need relaxed fit pants. I hope this helps. And I hope STC will put this info in their descriptions in the future. You can tell that even SOME of the people who work here (based on answers Ive read) are not familiar with these terms. Ive been very happy with the help Ive received but having this info up front would save a lot of disappointment and money spent on return postage. Thanks.

  • Question “Are they loose fit?”
Asked on 12/2/2013 2:46:29 PM by Majie the buyer. from Virginia
    • Answer Normal fit, not too loose. Regular dress pant fit.
Answered on 12/2/2013 2:57:00 PM by Janisg from MD
    • Answer They are supposed to be a relaxed fit, and that was true of the first pair we got. Very comfortable, right length inseam. The second pair of the very same pants arrived with a much tighter waist and much longer legs. We decided to have them shortened and to avoid big lunches when wearing them. So you may or may not get a loose fit. I've washed the first pair and hung them to dry and they look new, so if you are in luck you get a sturdy and crisp pair of pants. If you are not in luck you get tighter, longer pants.
