I don't normally order sunglasses sight unseen, but this deal was too good to pass up. When they arrived, the fit was perfect, the look was awesome, and the bi-focals work great for close-up needs without changing glasses. They will be great for kayaking, bike riding, and particularly fly fishing,... Read More

Hoping these bi-focal sunglasses help when I am golfin and need to look at the scorecard or gps for yardages. So far they have been great to wear as I have bern a passenger in a car setting up directions on my phone without the need to switch to my cheap readers.

This is my second pair of Coyote bifocal readers. They are wonderful sunglasses and great for aging eyes to see delicate tasks. like tying fishing knots. I had my first pair for two years before they became so scratched they were hard to see through. I plan on being more careful with these.

This is my third pair of Coyotes. My first was purchased in Alaska years ago and I lost when I fell while Paddle Boarding. The second pair (purchased through Sierra Trading Post) had latex in the "nosebuds" of the glasses which I'm allergic to and didn't know was in the part. BAD allergic reaction. So, third times a charm. The BP-13 model is working for me. The bi-focal part of the lens just blends into the appearance without great notice, I see great from both aspects and the UV protection is high. I searched, believe me, for another brand to replace the Coyote models and haven't found one beyond having formal prescription ware made.

Very stylish glasses provide full coverage from the sun (no gaps around frames to let in the sun). The bifocal part works really well, and it's very well placed so you can read - but doesn't distract otherwise. Fit is excellent - doesn't slip off or pinch the nose. The best part is that people cannot tell that these are bifocals when they look at you - the bifocal part blends really well and is camouflaged. Polarization works against glare, but I am a photographer, and it sometimes prevents me from viewing my camera's LCD screen. Screws fell out of the temple after a year, but I fixed it easily. I love these glasses so much, that I'm on my 4th pair (I'm kind of a klutz and keep losing them).

These are the best non prescription bifocal sunglasses I've found in this price range. They're comfortable and clear and bifocals are great.

  • “Are the frames an 8 Base curvature?”
Asked by Streamfisher from Georgia on 7/14/2015 7:27:33 PM
    • Not sure what an 8 Base curvature is. Pls be more descriptive.

    • I'm not sure what an 8 Base curvature is but I love these sunglasses. I thought I would only use them when needing them (like if I thought I was going to read outside) but I wear them all the time. I bought another pair from Sierra that I never wear because these worked out so well.

    • I think they are a 6 base...

    • Hi. I am a very active 60 yo woman with a very narrow, small face. These glasses are great! They fit perfectly, even curve slightly around my face. Great clarity. I bike with them and hike with them. It's not so easy to find bifocal sunglasses so I may even buy an extra pair. You will love them!

    • I too am a small woman - five feet and a hundred pounds. I've also had issues with glasses fitting. My eyeglasses are child frames. I was very pleased with the fit of these sunglasses. No issues with falling off when I fish or hike. Very pleased!!

    • I am not sure how to measure the fit. I have a normal to large face and they fit just right.
Answered on 7/16/2014 12:32:56 PM by Alex T from Lima, Peru
    • They're pretty standard-sized and not super large, so if most sunglasses fit you, these would probably be fine. I bought a pair for my wife and she likes them because they are not the wrap around style and therefore they don't distort her view.
Answered on 7/16/2014 2:02:23 PM by Mike the Fisherman from Michigan
    • I too am a woman with a small face. I measured the glasses as follows...the face area is 5 inches across, slightly curved on the sides to 5.5 inches at the temples. Each lense is 1.5 inches high and 2.5 inches wide.

They provide good eye coverage, they don't crease my cheeks and the bifocal area takes up only the lower inside part of the lense. How I lived without them I really don't know!

I hope this helps, and keep in mind that Sierra Trading Post is fast and efficient when returns are necessary.
