I bought this thinking a coverlet was the same as a duvet cover. I got a blue-ish duvet cover as well with the intentions of switching them out every now and then. This is now used as an accent piece on the foot of the bed. I love how the yellow, I call it Goldenrod, contrasts with my duvet cover. It is a very heavy cotton blanket, almost as heavy as a wool blanket. It helps provide a little extra warmth on our feet at night, and looks great as well. This would work well as a stand alone blanket for warm summers or even as a blanket to throw in the car to take to the park.

I just received this item and the two shams this afternoon. Great quality! Tight weave, mid-weight. Color is more subdued (mellow?) than in the picture. The shams are tailored and have two closure bottoms on the back. I've been looking for this quality - and at this price it's a 'steal'.

This is a nice coverlet, in pewter it is a very good neutral color. I would never, ever pay the "retail" price of $300+ --the $127 I did pay was still on the high side for this item. It is nicely bound and of good weight and it can be used as a blanket.
