Reviewed by Ride monger from Northern California on Thursday, December 20, 2012Great wind protection off road riding.
A little warm on long climbs but undoing ankle zips works and they stay out of the chain.
Have yet to test water proofness with a real rain ride but they shed water like crazy.
Reviewed by greg from North Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday, December 15, 2012I ride in the early mornings. It can be cool / cold in the fall and winter (Arkansas) and these pants are good to about 45, then add a base layer and seem to be good to 30 or so. They do block the wind and rain and breathe pretty well. They have two straps down by the calf to keep material clear of the chain wheel. They are also a little long, but that's need to maintain knee flex when peddling.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by bikerchick from new york on Monday, December 10, 2012way too stiff for cycling
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Bike Guy from Kansas City on Tuesday, October 30, 2012I wanted these pants for commuting in cooler weather, much better than what I expected. Did my ten mile commute today in mid thirties and they performed very well with just shorts underneath. Feel confident i would be comfortable to thirty degrees as is, maybe 20 with knee warmers. I'm five ten and 200 pounds, the large is a comfortable fit with not a lot of loose fabric flapping around
- Best Uses: Commuting, Touring
- Pros: Good Fit, Warm
Question & Answer
“My husband is looking for a bike pant for cool weather mornings, around 40F. He already has bike pants for the 20-30F range and needs something that won't make him too hot on cool but not cold mornings. What is the best bike pant for this need?”
This would not be the choice. You may want to consider Items #84317, #25995, or Item #4774D.
Yes they are intended to fit over hiking boots
