I could literally press my thumb against the edge and run along it without even a nick - dull would be an understatement. I'm going try some extensive sharpening, but the stock edge on this knife will take a lot of work. The sheath is a cheaply made plastic jacket. I have no idea how this knife is meant for skinning Salmon - it literally could not sharpen a stick.

Reviewed by Pine Cone from Western Washington on Wednesday, May 22, 2013I have used the smooth/serrated version for about a year now, bought some of these smooth bladed versions as presents. Great lock, easy to open and close, keeps a good edge. Added bonus is that the locking stud can be clicked forward towards the end of the knife to lock it closed.

Reviewed by Uncle Melty from Deep in the Heart of Texas on Wednesday, May 22, 2013Wow! Innovative design, perfect size, good SHARP blade. First knife I've owned that locks both OPEN and CLOSED! I first thought the knife was defective when it refused to open upon rotating the blade with my thumb on the "button" as per other knives I've owned. Upon closer examination I observed that it is indeed a button that must be pushed IN to release the blade for opening. This done, the blade can then be opened with minimal movement which is completed via spring assist with LIGHTNING SPEED! VERY IMPRESSIVE! At this price I'd buy more than one...wait...I did! You won't be disappointed.
