I have two LED headlamps, this one and a slightly larger one that runs on 3 AAA batteries. This one is so small you barely notice it yet it puts out a lot of light. On the downside, it requires the more expensive CR2032 batteries that are a bit more difficult to find in smaller locations. Keep a blister pack with 2 batteries handy, just in case.
Because it is so light, it can be worn for a long time. And you don't always need lighthouse strength light output of the bigger unit. Because it is so small it is easy to pack. I am thinking of replacing the mag lite I always carry in my day pack with this one.
