Used under a heavy, 10" boot during a 7K mile motorcycle trip through mtns of US and Canada Aug 2011. I had multiple pairs of various ski and temp regulating smart wool hiking socks to use\try. However, by a far margin, the best were these Alpaca socks as they were comfortable the minute I put them on and I never thought about my feet again. Kept them perfect whether riding at high altitude\low temps or blasting across 105+ fahrenheit plains. End of day 10+ hours wearing them (and minimal foot travel) did not have that same feeling or appearance when using sock liners/wool socks or even like the Bridedale wicking (hiking) socks. They held up well and will be a static part of my minimal travel gear from now on.
