However, the hardware on mine doesn't keep the front pocket with the flap closed, so it makes that otherwise nice pocket feature useless. Since all the other reviews are raves, I suspect that I got a defective bag.

What I like is the light weight and variety of useable compartments and how they are designed throughout the bag. I order the gray pattern, it has a soft sunny yellow interior that cheers you up and would make things quite easy to find. I was said to send it back, so close....

While it is fairly roomy, I do wish it were just slightly bigger. The other thing that would be great is if they would have added a strap so that it could be carried over the pull handle of a carry on while traveling. Very attractive though, love it that way, and looks to be very well made. Am thinking of buying one for a sibling for Christmas!

I was really upset that I hadn't received the other bag and had been searching for weeks for a bag to replace the first one! On a whim I decided to see what products Dakine had to offer on the way of laptop bags that could double as a diaper bag. Originally I found another style that I liked more than this one but found out after reading about it it was a small purse. So I kept looking and I found this bag style and thought it would be perfect although the dimensions suggested it would be a little smaller than the bags I was originally after it would serve its purpose. When I got the bag I was absolutely shocked by its size. It is definitely not too big but it is bigger than they made it sound in the description, which for being used as a diaper bag is a HUGE plus! It has lots of pockets for organization and since it stated in the description it could hold a 17" laptop I tried it! I only have a 17" laptop but I can imagine something slightly bigger would fit also! I intend to use that pocket to hold diapers! :) I'm in love with the color and pattern! I have been half tempted to order a second one as a purse! If you are considering this bag for any use, BUY IT! You will not be disappointed! Sierra Trading Post will have my business for a long time I ordered this bag on a Tuesday it was at my house on Friday! Fast, accurate and great prices! Thank you Sierra Trading Post!

I don't know how I'd do without it. To learn that Dakine isn't making this bag anymore was very disconcerting to me! I have lived and traveled all over the world with this bag and the 20" carry-on. I have even been away from home for 2 months with just those two Dakine bags. My old Valet bag was getting too dirty and frayed around the edges (it was the green and brown plaid from about 10 years ago!!!!!), so I decided on a new one. It easily fits under the airline seat in front of you and holds everything you might need to get to quickly when traveling, including ipod and computer. I've also used it as an overnight bag. Tip: on long haul flights, pick the exit row and use your Valet Bag as a footrest. It's the perfect height. I've had many people ask me about the bag after I've used it this way.

Plus I needed a bag that doubled as my purse when I fly to Colorado with my ski gear and wedding dress so I can get everything on the plane I need! This bag is much roomier than I had anticipated. There is a pocket for a 13" lap top or it can be a protective area for e-readers. Plenty of room to put a jacket in and carry everything you need while traveling in a car or by plane. The outside pocket has an organizer in it for IDs and pens, as well as enough room to store your passport and chargers.
The straps are a little stiff but will loosen up over time. top handles are a good length to carry while the shoulder strap is adjustable and detachable. Strong and sturdy hardware. -
