Credit the sporty appeal of Dale’s Ostersund sweater to its original purpose — it served as the official sweater for the Norwegian Biathlon Team at the 2008 World Championship in none other than Ostersund, Sweden. Insulating virgin wool is highlighted with contrast stripes on each sleeve, as well as unique raised texturing at the back of each elbow. Dale of Norway has been making beautiful sweaters since 1879, inspired by breathtaking surroundings and authentic Norwegian patterns. Skilled craftsmen ensure every step of the sweater-making process is executed with precision.

    The sweater looks good with jeans or khaki pants. It has a sporty close fit but is very warm. It can be a little itchy at first but seems less so after wearing it several times. The blue was more navy then shown in the picture and mine had a Norwegian flag on the upper left chest. I was able to remove the flag without leaving a perceptible mark on the sweater. With the flag the sweater looked a little too causal. The quality is outstanding. The colors are very sharp and distinct. An excellent product.

    This sweater is beautiful. Its trim cut fits my slender build perfectly and I love the thick, heavy yarn it is made with. One gripe: The picture of the blue sweater on the Sierra Trading Post web site shows a sweater without patches. Imagine my surprise when it arrived and I found a Norwegian flag sewn to the chest. I don't want flags on my sweaters. Now I have to figure out how to get it off without damaging the sweater, or perhaps I will simply return it, which would be a shame.

    Great sweater! This is a classic 1970's style ski sweater with excellent fit. Made of Dale's wool, this will last a lifetime. I was able to remove the Norwegian flag without harming the wool. I highly recommend any Dale sweater.

    I bought this sweater for my husband who has more than 10 DofN sweaters by now and likes and uses them all. The size is accurate (as opposed to a vanity sizing: large item but calling it a smaller number than it should have been); size M of DofN sweater corresponds to US size 38 in a sport coat. The sleeves could be a little longer, they are standard for DofN. All in all, it's a very nice, classic winter sweater.
