3.0 out of 5 stars. nice but.Reviewed by Joe runner from idaho on Wednesday, November 20, 2013This is a nice product, but there are a few holes in the center of one side of the stone. Have to flip it over and use only one side but that is ok.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Better than the gadgetsReviewed by Jesse Pesci from North Carolina on Sunday, November 10, 2013I've always used some sort of diamond gizmo to try to get my blades sharp, or I've given them to a friend to sharpen. Not anymore. It's not the easiest, but these stones can help anybody put an edge on a blade.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Back to basics of sharpening your knifeReviewed by Blazer from Cheyenne WY on Sunday, October 13, 2013There is just something about having that stone in your hand, and methodically counting how many strokes per side of the blade that you sharpen. Yes, there are so many other new products built of plastic that are out there and one-two-three, your done and the knife is sharp (well, sharpen than what it was). But this kit, is for making sure your old knife that Dad of Grandpa gave you still has that edge, and you want to care for it, just like they did. The kit comes with instructions, and it may feel a little awkward at first, but soon enough, you will be asking for all those straight knives in the kitchen to sharpen. True knife sharpening with these stones (and the correct stone at that) is fast becoming a lost art. I highly recommend this set to ensure YOU sharpen that knife, and not some plastic gadget.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Quick way to sharpen knivesReviewed by Darren from Yakima, WA on Tuesday, October 8, 2013I find hese work better than the typical long cylindrical sharpener that comes in knife sets. I used them on our JA Henkel knives and are enjoying them again without frustration. It takes a bit of skill to get the proper angle for a good edge, but once you get the rhythm it goes quickly. I wish they were a bit longer for my 8" blade, but they work well for the 6" and smaller. The med grit is good for pruning shears. I appreciate the storage box since it keeps the residual oil from getting all over the drawer they are kept in.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Works as promisedReviewed by TonyL from Georgia on Wednesday, September 25, 2013I never owned or used a stone so I have nothing to compare it to, but it did do a very nice job of sharpening my Case folding knife blades. I also like the reusable storage box .

5.0 out of 5 stars. Honing AwayReviewed by texasrose from Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 17, 2013Great little kit and so useful. Such an easy way to keep the knives sharp. I have always liked to sharpen knives with stone. Have had other stones and they always seen to end up with one of my children. They just have to have one and it is gone forever, but not this kit, it is mine.

4.0 out of 5 stars. The real thingReviewed by Judy from Downingtown, PA on Monday, July 8, 2013I bought two of these--one for my hubby and one as a Christmas present for our son. Hubby says it's a good product. Unfortunately, one came with a corner chipped off (still in the box), but it shouldn't be a problem for sharpening.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Items received were as described - no nonsense.Reviewed by Anonymous from Fl on Saturday, May 11, 2013These two stones are the real deal. A good size for doing hand work on large items such as a machete, but very good for the smaller knives as well. Being partly raised in a country where sugar cane was once a major product and going to the fields to cut grass for the animals a daily task, knowing how to quickly put a "convex" edge was a necessity. Although those days are history a good sharp machete still has its uses. Mostly done with a file and a river stone then now I have Dan's stone to ease the work and put a lasting edges on my blades.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Sharpening Stone SetVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bobo the Gorilla from Tacoma, WA on Thursday, January 3, 2013Comes with 2 nice stones (med and fine). Med works well, not sure if I'll need the fine. Oil comes in a plastic bottle that is somewhat leaky, and oil comes out FAST. Not a big deal. The stones feel good, and it is simple and quick to put a good edge back on all the pocket knives again. Comes with an instruction sheet showing how to hone a blade. Wood box can be used as storage for the set.
