    I use these every day, hiking and climbing in the local nature reservations around Boston. In all types of weather across some steep, rocky terrain. The boots are incredibly well made, provide incredible support and are still (magically) flexible and comfortable. Break in period essentially zero, able to wear for extended hikes right out of the box. These boots are the real deal, highly recommend.

    I had to return mine for a mens size 6. I am usually a size 8 women, so I guess that's about a half size smaller than I am normally. I didn't mind returning them though, because it was a speedy exchange and I love these boats! They make me feel invincible! They are very stiff and will require some break in, but are still comfortable and I've already hiked in them once with no blisters or discomfort.

    OK, I already have Danner desert boots for women. Those are the best boots one could hope for. Granted, I wore them in Iraq. I need boots that I can wear in slush and mud now. I purchased these thinking that the sizes will be the same as my summer boots. I was wrong. I had to return these AND I ordered one size smaller. I hope the new pair will fit. These are great boots. Heavy but good construction and good looking for those hikes in the wet, cold terrain.

    Vibram soles surprised me by being very "grippy" on slick frosty logs & rocks. I prefer a stiff upper leather, but this is a softer style, still ok. Break in time was minimal.

    I just received my boots yesterday. In general, they are quite comfortable. The leather is quite soft so no long break-in is required. However, as some reviewers have suggested, they run little bit narrow. To be honest, the only way you can tell whether the shoes fit are to try them on before you buy. If they don't fit, simply return them for different size. Buying shoes online always has that problem.

    Product exceeded my expectations and was comfortable from the first wearing. Hiked for 3-4 hours on day 2, no blisters, no discomfort. These boots gave exceptional traction and my feet were not sore through the 'break in' period. Great product! Wish they made something similar in an all leather boot!

    I ordered a "D" width and still found it quite wide. My foot is narrower than D, but this width gap was greater. I added some aftermarket insoles on top of the factory insoles and that worked much better. After some break-in, the boots are becoming quite comfortable. I would recommend wearing in house for a few days before you judge comfort. They become much better. I would also prefer hook type lace grabs at the top since the the D-loop style have a tendency to loosen below as you tighten above.

    I am a female with wide feet and followed the information, but the width feels a little narrow still. These boots were not as heavy as I feared, but they are definitely not day-hikers. I found, like other reviewers, that they are difficult to lace tightly. However, they were comfortable right out of the box and US-made. I would buy them again.
