“I've been "making do" with smaller stones but decided to take a chance on the Dan's "seconds" offered at a sale price. The soft stone is one I don't use much, really only to bring back a misused or damaged blade. But I have used the one I bought and although a "second", the surface is this stone blemish free and milled perfectly flat and works just as well as a "first". The only blemish is in internal fissure that does not affect the sharpening surface at all.”
