Dan's Whetstone Arkansas Sharpening Stone - Soft 7"

I've been "making do" with smaller stones but decided to take a chance on the Dan's "seconds" offered at a sale price. The soft stone is one I don't use much, really only to bring back a misused or damaged blade. But I have used the one I bought and although a "second", the surface is this stone blemish free and milled perfectly flat and works just as well as a "first". The only blemish is in internal fissure that does not affect the sharpening surface at all.

As part of our work tools we are issued a knife in a pouch to wear on our duty belt, we use our knives every day. As everyone knows...a dull knife is a dangerous knife. My duty station is New Jersey but I am an Arkansas woman. I've placed a sharpening stone in all my work areas to share with co-workers. My stone will remain there long after I'm gone back home to the South.

Product is easy to use once you have seen a video. Then a reminder in text is all you need to occasionally brush up on skill or to build on it. Vastly superior to electric sharpeners...you have total control.

I have given all my Culinary knives and utility knives an edge that no other stones have been able to achieve. Thanks for such a great product.

It is amazing how simple it is to use this whetstone, and how sharp it hones your kitchen and other knives.

I use it at home and in the outdoors. Great size for both.

Gave as gift but recipient said sharpening guide did not work and instructions not clear and he could not sharpen his knife or scissors.

I slid my k-bar on it a few times, and by the time I was done, my knife was dangerous to even look at, for it could split your eye right open.

At 75 years old, I had not used a whetstone in many years. Tried yours. Loved it! Chased down every knife around our house; had a ball. I am not your typical customer since I think "roughing it" is an outside room at Holiday Inn!
