    These coasters are nice and thick with a cork backing to protect furniture. They are a good size and each one is completely different because they are natural stone. My only issue with them is that the sandstone is a little grittier than I expected and I am slightly worried about scratches on my dishes or my furniture if one gets flipped over. I think that the texture will smooth out with use and I will still buy them again.

    Although these are seconds, it is often difficult to tell. They are perfect for both hot and cold drinks - indoor and out. The coasters absorb moisture, so they are great for iced drinks. As often happens with items from Sierra Trading Post, I end up placing a second order after I first receive the product.

    These coasters are great for absorbing moisture but don't expect them to be pretty; these are Seconds. Sandstone is best suited for cold aluminum cans, plastic cups and other items where a scratch on the bottom won't matter. Coasters have cork pad but kids may drag them, on edge, across a coffee table leaving a scratch.

    I use these around the house to protect surfaces from moisture - they work very well and the natural material usually goes with just about everything. Not all the stone that's used is attractive, though, so giving them as a gift might be risky.

    I needed to get coasters and I seen these and the price was Great so I ordered them. I pulled out the box they are packed in - Wow!- heavy! I looked at one and I cannot wait to use them. They are very nice and will definately do the job. I am rearranging my home right now so that is why I am not using them at this time. I highly recommend these!

    While I knew these were seconds, based on all the great reviews, I got several sets thinking I could use them as gifts. I have two other brands of sandstone coasters that I love. Not a single set of these was giftable. I can use them at home for myself, but I do regret buying multiple sets. These were described as seconds, so no fault to STP, but if you were expecting barely perceptible blems, you won't be happy.
