David Brooks Flared Denim Skirt (For Women)

I love this skirt. The definition said it ran big and I am grateful for that, it fits fine and I absolutely love it. The only con is that I wish it came in other colors, I would definitely buy it again.

A nice skirt, easy to wear, but with a big construction flaw. The zipper puckers. I like the fabric, the style, the washed denim color--it's too bad the zipper won't lie flat. I wear it with tunic-length tops for running errands, grocery shopping, casual activities. I'd probably wear it more if I didn't have to hide the zipper.

The herringbone pattern and the cut of the panels work to drastically emphasize proportionally large thighs & behind. The photo doesn't show this well but it's like it has built in, striped, saddle bags. Plus if it doesn't fit well in the waist it sags a bit in the back and then tucks in under the behind, emphasizing it in an unfortunate way. This one was a mistake for me. I'll try taking it in at the waist to help out the fit on the derrierre but there's no fix for the stripy side panels that curve over just the wrong place on the hip/leg. If you need to look wider at the top of your thigh, this is a great skirt for you.

One small flaw -- could be flatter across stomach. Seems to be designed for a slightly bulgey stomach, but this may go away when washed. Wanted a versatile, casual skirt and this fills the bill. Especially like the twill weave fabric.

The soft, smooth fabric drapes well and the seams somehow create a pretty, curvy shape to the skirt. It fits well and is close enough to real denim that it goes with everything. But since it's a lighter weight, it's much more comfortable than stiff denim. I can probably wear this year-round in Arizona.
