However, I'm a runner with athletic legs (not fat, but big calves) and thus these boots are tight even with the stretchy side panels. I can wear them as long as I don't try to tuck my pant legs into the boots. They are very stiff. Nonetheless, they were a great value.

The interior makes them a comfy wear - not "rubbery" at all. They are size accurate - for their height they're very easy to put on and take off. Would have given them another star if the center seam weren't visible on one of the boots....take a close look at the enlarged picture. They're so cute it wasn't a serious enough flaw to return them.
