Cooped up inside all winter? It’s time to bring out the hammocks, lounge chairs and patio furniture and get ready for a summer of barbecuing and lounging. If your patio furniture is weathered and worn, consider upgrading to higher quality deck chairs. Sure, you can buy plastic, but it’s not as attractive or comfortable, and it tends to show scuffs and discolorations. Teak wood is an excellent choice for patio dining – very sturdy and resilient, plus it naturally weathers to a beautiful silvery grey. If you’re buying hammocks or lounge chairs with steel frames, make sure they are powder coated (i.e. sprayed with ground pigment and resin to protect from rust). All chair cushions should be clearly marked UV and weather resistant, or you’ll be replacing them after one season of wear.
