High visibility and quality construction, light weight. I only wish the sleeve length was more reasonable.

How I use it: I'm a recreational roadie, riding most days between 6 and 7 AM, so I'm subject to changeable temps. Like some other reviewers, I bought this during the summer in anticipation of fall & winter use. As the weather has turned colder I have been very pleased. The attention to detail in the design is very apparent. Here are things I like: The placement of pockets and operation of closures is convenient -- the front hand pockets are a plus, and additional soft items can be stashed inside the jacket behind the mesh. The fleece collar is comfortable against the neck when fully closed - no zipper scratch like some other jackets I've had. The combination of elastic and velcro at the wrists is a good choice, allowing access to your watch or a quick cooldown by pulling up the sleeves. The gentle elastic at the armholes provides a good wind seal without binding when worn as a vest. The built-in helmetliner, stashed in the collar (also removable, for you ounce divas), should be useful in colder weather. Here are some things to keep in mind - not defects, but features to be aware of when considering how you'll use the jacket: This is *not* for someone that wants to be able to convert quickly from jacket to vest. The sleeves take a minute or two to remove and store. It's also not the lightest garment, but that's part of the tradeoff for the water / wind resistance and the many technical features. In short -- highly recommended.

I bought the Descente jacket for my husband, and I liked it so much I got one in my size. Finally a light weight jacket that my arms can't outreach when I'm on a bike! Women's clothing is too often cut tooooo short in the shoulder to wrist and from shoulder to shoulder. Nope, I'm not a chevron shape, but most clothes are just for tiny bones. Not this time! Still has a nice trim fit.

I've had this abut 2 months now, and it's really great, very comfortable and wind resistant. The teflon coating on the material keeps it from staining, or smelling sweaty. You wouldn't want to remove the sleeves while riding, but they do come off so that you also have a vest for slightly warmer days, which makes it very versitile.
