Reviewed by Backpacker from Montgomery, Ohio on Tuesday, May 7, 2013This is an attractive hat that appears to be of quality construction. Both the brim and crown of the hat are flexible but are not designed to formed. In other words, you can't shape the hat as you might a baseball cap or cowboy hat. The hat is heavier than a boonie hat but the mesh area is quite generous and does a nice job letting heat out. A nice hat that I'm looking forward to testing in the Grand Canyon.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Flying Dutchman from Grand Rapids, MI on Saturday, July 21, 2012I bought this Discovery Expedition canvas safari hat to have around for those really hot days, when I need extra ventilation. It has a 360-degree mesh crown that will keep your head cool and ventilated. It also helps to ward off the rays of the sun. I also have a Tilley hat, and while it is not up to the quality of a Tilley hat, for the price, it is a great deal. The fit is good. Tilley hats are 3-4 times the price.
- Best Uses: Anything outdoors, Beach, golfing, Hiking, Travel
- Cons: Heavier than some
- Pros: Breatheable, Good Khaki Color, Mesh Crown, Stable Brim, Versatile
Verified Buyer Reviewed by KS Moose from Kansas on Wednesday, July 11, 2012Just what I was looking for for long hikes in the summer heat.
- Pros: Fits Well, Vented
